Knotting pliers ensure that the threaded knot is flush against the bead or pearl. Simply tie a loose overhand knot near the pearl and place the knotting pliers behind the knot. Squeeze the handles together while holding on to the end of the thread. Be sure not to clamp the thread so tightly that the knotting pliers are locked in place. Gentle slide the knot until it is tightened against the pearl. Remove the knotting pliers and firmly pull the knot tight.
